Former five-star recruit Bru McCoy taking visit to Tennessee

Bru McCoy never lived up to his potential at USC, but the promising wide receiver is hoping to revive his collegiate career elsewhere.

McCoy, who is in the transfer portal, is taking an official visit to Tennessee this week weekend, according to Chris Hummer of 247Sports.

McCoy was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and ranked in the top-10 nationally. He enrolled at USC in January 2019, but he decided to leave a few weeks later and transfer to Texas after Kliff Kingsbury ended his brief tenure as the Trojans’ offensive coordinator. McCoy was with the Longhorns for just five months before he transferred back to USC, as he reportedly did not feel comfortable at Texas.

Things went downhill quickly from there. McCoy caught 21 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns at USC in 2020. He was then suspended by the school following a domestic violence arrest prior to last season.

Wherever McCoy ends up, it will likely be his last change to put things together.
