Former Florida RB Trevor Etienne says Gators were 'motivated more than ever' in win against Tennessee in 2023

Former Florida running back Trevor Etienne, who transferred to Georgia earlier this offseason, joined the Real Talk Podcast recently and he revealed that his favorite game in his career so far is the Gators' win against the Tennessee Vols last season.

Florida beat Tennessee 29-16 in Gainesville last fall.

Etienne rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown in that win against the Vols. It was the only game last season where Etienne went over 100 rushing yards.

The former Gator noted Florida was "driven" before playing the Vols in 2023.

"I would say that Tennessee game," said Etienne when asked about his favorite memory at Florida. "That game was crazy. Y'all probably saw the video of the fight. Man, that game was crazy from start to finish. There was just something different about that week. The team was driven. They were motivated more than ever. It was just electric...I had a big game, like 172 (rushing yards) and one tuddy (touchdown). That was probably the best game of my career."

Show host Tate Ratledge, an offensive lineman for the Bulldogs, added that Georgia would get Etienne over two (two hundred yards), presumably against Tennessee this season, to which Etienne replied "I can't wait".

Florida was out for revenge against the Vols last season after losing in Neyland Stadium in 2022. And Tennessee's poor offensive effort combined with Etienne's big day led to a rough night in the Swamp for the Vols.

This season, it should be the Vols who are "motivated more than ever" to beat Florida. The last thing Tennessee wants to do in a season where they're hoping to compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff is lose to a Gators team who might fire their coach (Billy Napier) at the end of the season.
