Former Florida State Star Jammie Robinson projected to Buffalo Bills in Mock Draft

Since the end of his collegiate career, former Florida State star Jammie Robinson has kept his nose to the grindstone while trying to prove his status ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Over the last couple of months, Robinson turned in a standout performance at the Reese's Senior Bowl before impressing scouts at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. He didn't test like a freak athlete but Robinson turned heads during interviews and showed off his ability once the defensive backs hit the field to go through position drills.

The stability and consistency that the Georgia native projects to provide a franchise at the next level has his stock on the rise with the draft about a month out. Robinson will have a couple more opportunities to finalize his standing during Florida State's Pro Day at the end of March and when he takes top-30 visits to teams who are interested in him.

Recently, he's continued to trend in mock draft projections. Last week, PFF's Trevor Sikkema dropped a three-round mock to project where things stand with free agency underway and the combine in the rearview mirror.

At the moment, it appears that Robinson has an opportunity to sneak into the second round. Sikkema projects the back-to-back First-Team All-ACC selection to be drafted in the second round by the Buffalo Bills with the No. 59 overall pick.

The Bills retained All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer to begin free agency but recently lost linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to the Chicago Bears. Robinson is a hybrid who could contribute at safety, nickel, or linebacker depending on the package. His versatility and physicality is an aspect that stands out.

During his two years with the Seminoles after transferring from South Carolina, Robinson totaled 183 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, one sack, eight pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and five interceptions in 25 appearances. He concluded his college career as a back-to-back First-Team All-ACC selection at safety, becoming the first FSU defensive back to do so since Jalen Ramsey.

The 2023 NFL Draft is scheduled for Thursday, April 29 through Saturday, April 29.
