Former Florida State tight end Camren McDonald has landed close to home after signing with the Los Angeles Rams this past week following a brief stint in Green Bay.

The former Seminole went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft before being signed initially by the Green Bay Packers but wasn't able to carve out a role for himself on Lambeau Field, which led to him being cut in recent weeks.

Breaking into the tight-end rotation could prove to be challenging, but the former Seminole has a chance to make the 53-man roster. Since signing with the Rams, McDonald has reportedly shined while working with the special teams unit.

The Long Beach, California native spent five seasons in Tallahassee, starting in 2018. After not making a serious impact his freshman year, by year two, he played six games, racking up 43 yards on six receptions.

McDonald jumped to 23 receptions for 263 yards in year three, solidifying himself as a contributor for the 'Noles, and followed suit with 24 receptions the next season.

Most recently, in 2022, McDonald was more efficient on fewer touches, pulling down 21 receptions for 312 yards. He brought down five touchdowns in his collegiate career. Again, his impact on the Rams wouldn't just come from his abilities as a tight end but also his special team's contributions.

At 6-foot-4, 237 pounds, McDonald is able to find ways to be impactful in the passing game, though his best impact as a tight end would be his added blocking. There's not much upside for him in his NFL career, but finding different ways to benefit a team will be his best shot at making a final roster.
