Former Four-Star Recruit Forced to Retire From Ole Miss Due to Injury

It's been a tough college football career for tight end Hudson Wolfe. He came to Ole Miss in 2021 as a four-star recruit out of Hardin County High School.

Things never got off the ground for Wolfe as he dealt with injury issues early and often. In four seasons, he has only been able to play in 10 games. He missed the entire 2024 season due to injury.

Wolfe was planning to come back for 2025, but it looks like he's changed his mind. According to Tyler Komis of 247 Sports, the tight end has medically retired from college football.

After dealing with so many serious injuries, Wolfe just couldn't commit to football. He was from Tennessee and previously committed to the Tennessee Volunteers. He quickly grew strong relationships with players inside the Ole Miss locker room.

"Even through those things, with the brotherhood we have around this team, there was never anyone that looked at me and said I wasn't going to make it," Wolfe previously told Inside The Rebels. "I was able to lean on my brothers and my team. They were always a word of encouragement of 'man, you've been through this before, where you know how to get through these things. ... All it takes is putting one foot in front of the other and getting through the next step. 'How are we going to make it through the day, doing things the right way in order to be successful at the end of the day?'"

It remains to be seen what will be next for Wolfe.
