Another former member of the Indiana football program has found a new home. Former Indiana return specialist and running back Jaylin Lucas announced his commitment to Florida State on Sunday afternoon.

Lucas, who entered the transfer portal after two seasons in Bloomington, had just wrapped up his official visit with the Seminoles when he made his commitment.

“Florida State was the place for me because of the season they had last year and I feel like I can just bring my whole skillset here,” Lucas said on his pledge to the Seminoles. “Be a huge factor to what’s going on here. I just want to be part of a team with diehard (fans) and go out there and work every single day.”

The former Indiana football speedster had interest from Penn State, Mississippi State, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati and others.

Lucas was an All-American kick returner as a freshman after he returned two kicks for touchdowns in his first year. In total, he finished with 1,163 kick return yards in his two seasons.

As a freshman, Lucas totaled 271 yards rushing with a 5.5 yard-per-carry average. He finished with two rushing touchdowns. Lucas also had 16 receptions for 82 yards.

Last year, Lucas came in with high expectations but was widely underused the first half of the season and struggled to find consistent touches throughout the final part of the year. He finished with 67 carries for 275 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to 34 receptions for 247 yards and two touchdowns.

He finished with 875 total offensive yards and six touchdowns during his two seasons at Indiana.
