Back in early January, four-star DL JaReylan McCoy committed to LSU; however, he recently retracted his pledge to attend the school and play for the Tigers after he finishes his senior year.
McCoy then decided to fully reopen his recruitment for the school where he intends to play football in the fall of 2026. He told Chad Simmons of On3 Recruits that it's "relationships" that matter to him.
"Relationships and the people I am around is what I'm looking for," McCoy said when talking to On3. "I want to be around great people. Building close relationships is key in my decision."
The Mississippi native would go on to reveal the other schools he has scheduled visits with in the coming months.
McCoy is set to visit Gainesville, Florida, to talk with Billy Napier and company about the possibility of becoming a Gator in the springtime. He will also make stops at Auburn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and LSU.
No team wants to miss out on hosting McCoy on a visit due to where he is currently ranked. Right now, he's a four-star recruit on 247Sports composite rankings; he's the fifth-best player from the state of Mississippi and the 100th-best player nationally.
Nothing is officially locked in, but McCoy is planning a trip to Florida and Auburn in May; Texas A&M and Ole Miss are also in the works, and another glance at LSU is believed to be in June later this year.
It appears he will have his choice of the SEC litter.
