Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy was found dead Saturday night, in Houston, according to multiple reports. Lacy was 24 years old and played four college football seasons, two at Louisiana and two at LSU.

Back in January, Kyren Lacy turned himself into authorities and was accused of causing an accident that killed a 78-year-old man in December, fleeing the scene without rendering aid.

A Louisiana State Police press release provided details on the accident.

"As Lacy was illegally passing the other vehicles, the driver of a northbound lane pickup truck abruptly braked and swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the approaching Dodge. Traveling behind the pickup truck was a Kia Cadenza whose driver swerved left to avoid the oncoming Dodge Charger. As the Kia Cadenza took evasive action to avoid impact with the Dodge, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound Kia Sorrento. Following the crash, Lacy drove around the crash scene and fled south on LA Hwy 20 without stopping to render aid, call emergency services, or report his involvement in the crash."

The player was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run with death and reckless operation of a vehicle. WBRZ reported that a grand jury was set to take up Lacy's case on Monday.

Lacy declared for the NFL Draft on December 19, two days after the alleged crash. The receiver emerged last season with the Tigers, leading the team in receiving touchdowns, and was the favorite target of Garrett Nussmeier. He finished the season with 58 catches, 866 receiving yards, and nine receiving touchdowns.

The Beast, The Athletic's NFL Draft Guide, had Kyren Lacy as the 74th wide receiver prospect of this year's class.

Kyren Lacy was born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, on December 27, 2000. In 2024, he was named a Second-Team All-SEC player. Lacy did not participate in the Texas Bowl, which was played two weeks after the Dec. 17 incident.
