Former UM DB Turner stuns Combine w/ 4.26s 40-yard dash
DJ Turner Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

DJ Turner didn’t quite run fast enough to top John Ross’ record 40-yard dash from spring of 2017, but the former Michigan defensive back was hanging out in that neighborhood during Combine drills on Friday.

The former Wolverine was officially timed at 4.26 seconds in the 40-yard dash while wowing the assembled team brass and media. That sprint put him into a four-way tie for fourth-fastest 40 in NFL Scouting Combine history.

Former Washington Huskies wide receiver John Ross remains alone on his private island with a record clocked sprint of 4.22 seconds. That sprint, in part, helped him to land with the Bengals as the ninth overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, though his pro career has yet to catch up to his impressive straight-line wheels.
