A former Ohio State football player was involved in a fatal ATV accident on Friday night.

According to a report from the Pennsylvania State Police, Julian Fleming was operating an ATV when it crashed, resulting in the death of a woman. Fleming sustained “serious injuries” in the accident and was hospitalized.

Fleming was reportedly driving a 2024 Yamaha ATV, with 23-year-old Alyssa Boyd—believed to be his girlfriend—as the passenger. Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene Friday night in Columbia Township, Bradford County.

According to the police report:

“An ATV was traveling northbound on Painter Lick Lane when it collided with a deer that had jumped into the roadway. Neither of the occupants was wearing safety equipment. The operator of the ATV sustained serious injuries and was transported to Guthrie Troy Community Hospital. The passenger sustained extensive injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A recently deceased deer was located on scene, consistent with the damage observed on the ATV.”

Fleming began his college football career at Ohio State, where he spent four seasons after being ranked the No. 1 wide receiver in the class of 2020 out of Pennsylvania. His best season came in 2022, when he recorded 533 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

After the 2023 season, Fleming transferred to Penn State, where he posted 176 receiving yards and one touchdown over 16 games with the Nittany Lions.

Fleming had been expected to sign an undrafted free-agent contract with the Green Bay Packers, but the deal reportedly fell through due to a failed physical.

This is deeply unfortunate news out of Pennsylvania for the former Buckeye standout.
