Former Ohio State Buckeyes kicker Jake Seibert announced on Twitter Tuesday that he is transferring to the Northern Illinois Huskies.

Seibert announced he was in the transfer portal April 17 and will have three years of eligibility remaining. The Cincinnati native chose Northern Illinois over Louisville and Bowling Green.

A three-star prospect and the second-best kicker in the class of 2020, Seibert went 1-for-2 on field goal attempts 16-for-16 on extra point attempts during his freshman season. His only made field goal of his career came against Alabama in the national championship game.

The past two seasons he sat behind Noah Ruggles after he transferred in from North Carolina and went on to be one of the most successful kickers in program history.

Former fellow special teams unit members Max Lomonico and Bradley Robinson both offered congratulations to Seibert on Twitter after his announcement.

Andrew Gantz, the owner of Game Winner Kicking and former Cincinnati and Northern Illinois kicker, posted a video Friday of Seibert splitting the uprights on a 52-yard field goal attempt.

Without Seibert, Ohio State's kicking competition has narrowed down to three options: former walk-on Jayden Fielding, USC transfer Parker Lewis and Kent State transfer Casey Magyar.

In the Buckeyes' spring game April 15, Fielding missed a 40-yard attempt and Lewis made a 38-yarder.
