The No. 1 Texas Longhorns and No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes are set to be the marquee matchup of Week 1 of the 2025 college football season.

The Longhorns, led by first-year starter at quarterback, Arch Manning, are looking to avenge their College Football Playoff Semifinal loss to the Buckeyes, who went on to win the championship. As for Ohio State, they too will have a new quarterback behind center, as the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the 2024 class, Julian Sayin, aims to become the first quarterback to defeat the preseason No. 1 team in their debut.

Although Manning has just two career starts to his name, he's widely expected to just automatically insert himself into the discussion as one of the best quarterbacks in college football. However, he will be playing behind an offensive line with four new starters, and will also see some new receivers thrust into larger roles.

One receiver who was expected to play a significant role for Texas, but is seemingly trending toward not playing, is Stanford transfer Emmett Mosley. Something Bobby Burton of On Texas Football confirmed on Friday.

"He's likely to be sidelined for this game," Burton said. "He's been injured almost all of fall camp. And Steve Sarkisian said guys that it was a recurrence of an injury that he was dealing with in the summer after coming over from Stanford."

As a true freshman at Stanford last season, Mosley recorded 48 catches for 525 yards and six touchdowns, with his best game coming against No. 19 Louisville as he racked up 13 catches for 168 yards and three touchdowns.
