Former Tennessee Vols DL Tyler Baron sends strong message after Miami's win against Florida

Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Tyler Baron sent a not-so-subtle message after the Miami Hurricanes' 41-17 win against the Florida Gators in Gainesville on Saturday.

Baron, who transferred to Miami earlier this offseason, made a big impact in the game for the Hurricanes, at one point affecting a Graham Mertz throw that resulted in an interception.

After the game, Baron was asked by a reporter if he felt like Miami sent a message to the rest of the country that the Hurricanes are a force to be reckoned with.

"For sure, I mean, definitely, I think we sent the right message to whoever wants to receive it," said Baron. "But for us, it was really just proving to ourselves that we are who we say we are."

Miami should probably be viewed as the favorites to win the ACC after Florida State's loss to Georgia Tech last weekend and Virginia Tech's loss to Vanderbilt earlier on Saturday.

How wild would it be if Baron ends up facing his former Tennessee teammates in the College Football Playoff later this season?

After watching Tennessee's dominant 69-3 win against Chattanooga and Miami's thrashing of Florida, it might not be such an absurd thought.
