Texas A&M is preparing to take on USC in the Las Vegas Bowl later this month, but one of their former prized recruits is on his way to another program.
Former Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman entered the transfer portal after being replaced by new quarterback Marcel Reed this season.
Weigman made 13 career starts at Texas A&M, going 9-4 in those games. He threw for 2,694 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions in three seasons with the Aggies.
According to On3's Pete Nakos, Weigman will be transferring to Houston to play for head coach Willie Fritz in the Big 12.

Weigman will stay in the state of Texas, moving from the SEC to the Big 12. The Cougars went 4-8 this season, their second straight year finishing with that mark after moving from the American.
During his college recruitment, Weigman also had offers from top schools like Oklahoma, Auburn, Missouri and Florida. He was one of the top quarterbacks in his class, which included current college stars like Cade Klubnik and Drew Allar.
Houston is looking to become bowl-eligible next season for the first time since 2022, when they went 8-5 and defeated Louisiana in the Independence Bowl.
They're looking to win a conference championship for the first time since winning the AAC in 2015, when they finished with a 13-1 record and a Peach Bowl victory over Florida State.
Several other top players around the country have entered the transfer portal, including SMU quarterback Preston Stone, Texas wide receiver Johntay Cook and Florida State quarterback Luke Kromenhoek.
Transfer portal players have dominated the college football landscape this season, which has been a trend in recent years. Bo Nix and Michael Penix were Heisman finalists last year after transferring, and Dillon Gabriel is a finalist this year after making his way to Oregon.
We'll see if Weigman can have the same success with the Cougars next season after departing College Station, Texas A&M and the Aggies. He'll have the chance to compete against different competition in a new conference, all with a fresh start and new head coach.
