Jaelen Gill's college football career has been a windy road, to say the least, and it's a road that's going to continue into the unknown as the former star recruit has decided to enter the transfer portal.
According to Chris Hummer of 247Sports, Gill, who has played wide receiver for the Boston College Eagles for the past two seasons, will be playing his final college football season elsewhere.

Gil signed with Ohio State out of HS. He was the No. 30 overall player in the 2018 classhttps://t.co/r4eyttxIYi
This will be the final chapter of a career that has been, frankly, hard to follow unless you've been paying close attention.
Gill signed with Ohio State as part of the Buckeyes' 2018 recruiting class, and he was considered a massive win for Urban Meyer — the coach at the time — and his staff. Gill was a U.S Army All-American and considered the No. 2 all-purpose back in his class as well as a top-30 recruit overall, per the 247Sports Composite.
He redshirted his freshman year at Ohio State and ended up switching from running back to wide receiver, where he notched just six catches for 51 yards and a touchdown in a Buckeyes jersey. He didn't get any traction at Ohio State, so he transferred to Boston College in May 2020 and carved out a nice role for himself with the Eagles, staying at wide receiver.
Gill caught 80 passes over the past three seasons with two touchdowns. He didn't score a touchdown in 2022 for BC, but he did contribute as a special teams returner with 24 kick returns and two punt returns. He averaged 21.2 yards per kick return in 2022, which was good for fifth in the ACC.
From star running back recruit, to Ohio State, to Boston College and now back to the transfer portal — it's going to be interesting to see where Gill's career ends up.
