Former Wolverine WR who transferred to Big Ten rival suffers season ending injury

While it always stings to lose a player in the portal, and even more so when they stay within the conference, nobody ever wants to see a player get injured. Sadly, that's what happened with former Michigan wide receiver Tyler Morris . The former Michigan wideout had transferred within the conference to play for the Indiana Hoosiers and head coach Curt Cignetti. Today, the Indiana football program announced that Morris had suffered a non-contact knee injury that will require surgery and sideline him for the entirety of the 2025 season.

At 5-11, 185-pounds, Morris was a speedy slot receiver during his time in Ann Arbor. While his career stats don't scream 'Biletnikoff Award' candidate, it is important to note that the Michigan Wolverines were an incredibly run heavy team during his tenure. Even in that run heavy offense Morris had some good games and memorable moments on the way to career totals of 39 receptions, 470 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

He was certainly looking forward to participating in an IU offense that was more geared towards the pass than what he dealt with in Ann Arbor. Hopefully all goes well, and he can make a full recovery and get back on the field soon.
