Oklahoma State has landed a major in-state recruiting win. Class of 2026 four-star defensive tackle Tajh Overton has committed to the Cowboys, he confirmed on social media.
Overton, a 6-foot-3, 275-pound standout from Owasso High School (OK), chose Oklahoma State over a final group that included Oklahoma and Ole Miss . He held more than 25 offers from programs across the country, but ultimately decided to stay close to home and join Mike Gundy’s program in Stillwater.

Ranked as a Top 3 player in the state of Oklahoma by Rivals, Overton brings a powerful presence to the defensive line. Known for his explosiveness off the snap and ability to disrupt plays in the backfield, he’s expected to be a cornerstone of Oklahoma State’s 2026 recruiting class.
His commitment is a significant win for the Cowboys, especially considering the in-state battle with the Sooners. It also continues Oklahoma State’s momentum on the recruiting trail as they look to build a defense capable of contending in the new-look Big 12.
The Cowboys pick up their second four-star 2026 prospect of the week, as Danny Beale committed to the Pokes on Wednesday. He is the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Arkansas and plays for Cross County High School. Ranked as the 157th overall prospect, the defensive lineman chose the Cowboys over Missouri, North Carolina and Ole Miss.
Overton and Beale’s decisions gives Oklahoma State two high-upside defensive lineman with the potential to make an early impact once they arrives on campus.
