With their latest win over the Utah State Aggies, the Fresno State Bulldogs have reached a 6-1 overall record for the 2023 season. The Bulldogs are now eligible for the postseason for a third consecutive year. The Bulldogs defeated Utah State 37-32 on Friday night.
In the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Fresno State reached and won a bowl game. This marks the first time since the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons that Fresno State will appear in a bowl game in three-straight seasons.
Fresno State entered Week Seven with wins over Purdue, Eastern Washington, Arizona State, Kent State, and Nevada already on their resume. Their one loss came last week at Wyoming.
On Friday night in Logan, Utah, quarterback Logan Fife filled in for an injured Mikey Keene, who suffered a lower body injury in the Wyoming game. Fife finished the Utah State victory with 22 completions on 39 attempts for 291 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Jaelen Gill also threw a touchdown on a trick play in the third quarter. Running back Malik Sherrod carried 23 times for 129 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensively, Bulldog defenders Phoenix Jackson and Dean Clark had ten tackles a piece.

Fresno State reached ten wins in both 2022 and 2021. They've had four ten-win seasons since 2017.
The Bulldogs have five opponents remaining on the 2023 schedule. Those opponents are all fellow Mountain West teams: UNLV, Boise State, San José State, New Mexico, and San Diego State. Fresno State will have an open date this week before playing that schedule.
