FSU Football vs Clemson: Top 10 Most Anticipated Rematches of 2024 College Football Season

The Florida State Seminoles will play in one of the biggest games of the 2024 college football season.

After going on the road and defeating the Clemson Tigers 31-24 a season ago, Bleacher Report is calling Clemson vs FSU one of the 10 most anticipated rematches of 2024. The game was ranked alongside contests such as Texas vs Oklahoma, Ohio State vs Michigan, and Alabama vs Georgia, among others.

"This game is just as important in 2024," article author Morgan Moriarty wrote. "Dabo Swinney likely can't miss the playoff for a fourth consecutive season if he wants to stay at Clemson. The Tigers return quarterback Cade Klubnik and 79 percent of their production on offense overall.

Florida State, meanwhile, has to massively reload to replace quarterback Jordan Travis, running back Trey Benson, wide receivers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman, and defensive end Jared Verse. SP+ predicts FSU as a team most likely to regress next season.

ESPN's Bill Connelly recently released his preseason SP+ rankings, with Florida State coming in at No. 12 (No. 19 in offensive SP+, No. 11 in defense, and No. 8 in special teams). Connelly claims that due to Mike Norvell's work in the transfer portal, "FSU might not have 2023-level upside, but the floor should still be pretty high."

Taking a second-straight win over Clemson - something that hasn't happened since the 2013-14 seasons - would be important as the Seminoles attempt to reassert themselves as top dog in the new Atlantic Coastal Conference.

"The 2024 edition of this ACC rivalry should be a good one," says Moriarty.
