LSU Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Ella Springfield on Saturday.
Garrett Nussmeier posted a photo on his Instagram story of his fiancée wearing a ring on her finger while smiling. “Forever us,” the LSU quarterback wrote in the caption.
Meanwhile, Springfield also posted about the engagement on her Instagram story by posting a selfie and writing, “I get to marry my best friend!!!” The couple’s engagement also earned a reaction from Garrett Nussmeier’s sister, Ashlynn Nussmeier.
“BESTIE SIS ,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
Ashlynn Nussmeier is in a relationship with former LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell. Campbell was selected No. 4 overall by the New England Patriots during the first round of April’s NFL draft while his girlfriend watched alongside his family.
“She’s amazing,” Campbell said during an interview with Us Weekly in April. “She has a football background, so she knows what it takes, the sacrifices that have to be made.
“If she wasn’t as good with that type of stuff, I’m sure it would be a lot more difficult. But she’s a rock star.”
Ashlynn Nussmeier's football knowledge comes from her brother, Garrett Nussmeier, and father, Doug Nussmeier, the New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator. Doug Nussmeier also was one of the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback coaches, helping the team win Super Bowl LIX in February over the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.
Meanwhile, Garrett Nussmeier and Springfield could announce their wedding plans in the coming months as they celebrate their engagement.
