Georgia Announces Gunner Stockton News on Monday

The Georgia Bulldogs have had an incredible 2025 season thus far. Ranked No. 5 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, the Kirby Smart-led Bulldogs have gone 9-1, including winning all of their past six games.

Quarterback Gunner Stockton has been a big reason for Georgia's success this year. Through 10 games, in which Georgia has gone 9-1, Stockton has completed an SEC-leading 70.7% of his passes for 2,269 yards for 19 yards with three interceptions.

On Saturday, in Georgia's 35-10 blowout victory over the No. 10 Texas Longhorns, Stockton was incredible again. He went 24-of-29 passing for 229 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. He also ran for 29 yards and another score on the ground.

Due to Stockton's phenomenal season, he has climbed up the Heisman Trophy odds rankings, and is now in the top five to win the award, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Stockton currently has +2500 odds to win his first Heisman.

Because of his incredible Week 12 performance against Texas, Stockton was presented with a pair of honors, which Georgia announced on its X account on Monday.

"Gunner Stockton has been selected as a Manning Award Star of the Week and as a member of the Davey O'Brien Great 8 for his performance against Texas ," the caption read.

These two honors add to an already impressive 2025 season for the junior quarterback. He is hoping to take Georgia back to the CFP and win an SEC title this season.

Stockton and the Bulldogs have just two games remaining in the regular season, with the first of which coming on Saturday against the Charlotte 49ers at 12:45 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
