The Georgia Bulldogs have been on fire to kick off the month of May on the recruiting trail. Kirby Smart and his staff began this month landing a critical offensive tackle prospect in Graham Houston. Then they locked up the their five star quarterback Jared Curtis (for the second time). Now they've won another critical battle for a top Georgia football recruit, giving them one of the most stacked 2026 recruiting classes in the nation already.
Jordan Smith–a consensus top 100 recruit in the country in the 2026 class–had gotten his recruiting battle narrowed down to just a handful of schools (Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia Tech) heading into the weekend, but ultimately decided to commit to Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. Smith had swiftly risen up recruiting boards throughout his back to back seasons of nearly 100 tackles and amazingly versatile defensive back play.

The 6’2 195 S from Warner Robins, GA chose the Bulldogs over Georgia Tech, Tennessee, & Alabama

Smith played safety, linebacker, cornerback, and even returned kicks as an explosive playmaking weapon for Houston County (Warner Robins, GA) just two hours south of the Georgia Bulldogs campus. It shouldn't be too surprising that he chose to play for Kirby Smart, but it's good to see Georgia winning the in-state recruiting battles for their best players.
Jordan Smith should join the Bulldogs just in time to learn from KJ Bolden for a year before he eventually takes on the mantle of the expected elite safety play at Georgia. Smith joins eight other high pedigree recruits already committed to the Bulldogs as Georgia's stacked 2026 recruiting class is already on pace to be top 10 (if not top 5 or better) once again.
