The Georgia Bulldogs' 2025 season is set to kick off in two weeks against the Marshall Thundering Herd on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Until then, they are wrapping up their team scrimmages as they get their depth chart in order, and one player who seems to be surging up the chart is true freshman wide receiver CJ Wiley.

"Smart will likely be asked this week about the continued emergence of freshman CJ Wiley, who is making a move to find a spot in the Bulldogs’ receiver rotation," Mike Griffith said, via dawgnation.com. "Wiley saw a fair share of work on Saturday, per one observer, and is looking the part of a contributor."

Georgia's wide receiver room struggled last fall, but it looks loaded this year after adding transfers Noah Thomas and Zachariah Branch. They also have Dillon Bell, Sacovie White, and London Humprheys, leaving Wiley to fill in the blank somewhere behind them. In addition to Wiley, Georgia's freshman WR room also consists of Talyn Taylor, Landon Roldan, Tyler Williams, and Thomas Blackshear.

A 6-foot-4, 210-pound wide receiver, Wiley was the No. 84 overall prospect in the nation, No. 13 at his position, and No. 11 player in the state of Georgia in the class of 2025, per 247 Sports

He had previously committed to Florida State before changing his mind, choosing Georgia over LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Auburn, and several other high-profile schools.

Athleticism runs in his family as his father, Chuck, was a two-time All-SEC selection as a defensive end at LSU and spent seven seasons in the NFL.
