Head coach Kirby Smart and his Georgia staff are making some notable trips during the last week of the spring evaluation period.
The Bulldogs hauled in the nation's No. 2 class (On3) after securing Smart's third SEC championship and fourth College Football Playoff in 2024.
UGA is entering the summer with the No. 6 class, headlined by No. 1 quarterback Jared Curtis.
There is still plenty of work to do in the 2026 cycle, and this week is a key step in assessing Georgia's top targets not already in the fold, including recruits currently committed elsewhere.
Georgia extended a scholarship offer to legacy recruit and four-star Notre Dame pledge Thomas Davis Jr. earlier this month.
And it appears that UGA is continuing to push for a flip, as defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Glenn Schumman is expected to pay a visit to the highly-touted defender this week, per On3's Rusty Mansell.
Davis Jr. is the son of former Georgia All-American Thomas Davis Sr., who went on to a decorated NFL career after his time in Athens (2001-04).
Originally a safety at UGA, Davis Sr. became the No. 14 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2005 draft. In 16 NFL seasons, the linebacker made the Pro Bowl three times and was a one-time All-Pro selection.
Davis Jr. pledged to head coach Marcus Freeman and the Irish on Nov. 12 after also considering Ohio State, Tennessee and North Carolina. The Matthews, North Carolina, native is rated as the No. 11 linebacker and the No. 184 overall recruit in the 2026 class.
Notre Dame makes up Davis Jr.'s lone summer visit (June 20), but it wouldn't be shocking for Georgia to get him on campus soon. The Bulldogs have the edge with family ties and have an elite track record in recruiting linebackers.
