Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, has been key recruiting ground for the Oklahoma Sooners over the years. But it was the Georgia Bulldogs that left an early impression on a highly-touted Guyer edge rusher last week.
On3's Jeremy Johnson reported on Friday four-star prospect Zane Rowe had a very positive visit with the Bulldogs.
“I got to spend time with coach David Hill, coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe, coach Tray Scott and coach Kirby Smart,” Rowe told Johnson. “Their message to me was to be excellent in every part of my life and that I’m their guy for the 2027 class.”
Rowe also raved about Georgia's practice habits.
Johnson continued to describe the Sooners as the favorites to land Rowe. But the edge rusher suggested the Georgia visit has the Bulldogs moving up.
“Georgia is definitely high on my list and they are a big contender,” said Rowe.
Rowe called the Georgia practice he visited the "most detailed and demanding practice" he's watched from any college program.
"I felt fired up watching practice and seeing the weight room just got me going," added Rowe.

The 247 Sports composite rankings rated Rowe a top 100 recruit in the 2027 class. The rankings also placed Rowe as the No. 3 defensive lineman and eight-best Texas recruit in the class.
The Bulldogs have yet to receive a verbal commitment from a 2027 prospect. Georgia has six hard commitments in the 2026 recruiting class.
