A Georgia football commit was reportedly arrested after an alleged driving incident.

According to Fox 26 Houston, Chace Calicut was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Another 17-year-old in the car with Calicut faces the same charges as the four-star defensive back.

Court reports claim Calicut drove in front of a car operated by a 17-year-old and slammed his brakes, forcing the driver to abruptly stop to avoid a collision. Calicut reportedly pulled up alongside the other vehicle that tried to drive away, and the driver said someone from Calicut's vehicle pointed a handgun at him and a 17-year-old female passenger.

The teen said he heard multiple gunshots after escaping Calicut's car. A witness claimed to have seen Calicut's passenger fire a gun outside the window.

Calicut allegedly threatened the victim, a classmate, at school and over FaceTime for "several months."

Calicut received offers from Alabama, Texas, and several other prominent programs before committing to Georgia last month. The 6-foot-3 defensive back ranks No. 114 among all class of 2026 recruits on 247Sports.

It's the second incident involving a Georgia recruit this month. Defensive lineman Seven Cloud was charged with domestic battery following an altercation with his significant other. A judge determined that the 300-pound Cloud, who was charged with disorderly conduct for destroying his partner's phone earlier this year, made no physical contact.

Those arrests continued an alarming trend within Georgia's football program.

Georgia's legal troubles mounted when wide receiver Nitro Tuggle was arrested for driving 107 mph in March. Shortly after, offensive lineman Marques Easley was arrested after crashing his car into an apartment complex. The Bulldogs suspended both players from the program.

Following those March arrests, the Athens Banner-Herald's Marc Weiszer counted 32 driving incidents since offensive lineman Devin Willock and staffer Chandler LeCroy died while racing on Jan. 15, 2023.
