The Georgia Bulldogs are looking to put a season in which they suffered their most losses (three) since 2018 behind them. They've been practicing all spring, gearing up for their annual spring game, "G-Day."
And several hours before the game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, head coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs got some big news on the recruiting front.
Class of 2026 safety Kealon Jones told On3's Hayes Fawcett directly that he's committed to Georgia. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder previously visited both Florida and Georgia Tech but ultimately chose to stay in-state and play in the SEC.

Jones explained what made Georgia the right choice for him.
"Georgia really just got a home feel that I didn't get anywhere else for real," Jones said. "And just a good connection with all the coaches, like the entire coaching staff. I feel like they kind of all got the same energy, even like in practice, in film, everything. I feel like they match each other's energy, seeing with the players and stuff."
Jones also shared that the one thing that put Georgia over the top in his recruiting was the way the coaching staff made him a "priority."
"I think it was just the way that they showed that I was a priority," he added. "Like talking to every coach, head coach, DC, every position coach on the defense, like, wanted to make sure I really felt at home, even when I was on campus and stuff too."
Jones becomes the sixth commit in Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class, which is still in its early stages.
He joins four-star safety Zech Fort, four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford, four-star tight end Lincoln Keyes, three-star wide receiver Brady Marchese and three-star defensive lineman Seven Cloud.
