Georgia predicted to land 4-star recruit over a program that's recently given the Bulldogs some problems on the recruiting trail

The Georgia Bulldogs could be landing a talented four-star recruit in the not-too-distant future.

Rivals.com national recruiting analyst John Garcia Jr predicted this week that Georgia will land a commitment from 2026 four-star athlete Tyriq Green over programs like the Miami Hurricanes and the Auburn Tigers.

Green, 5-foot-10/191 lbs from Buford, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 10 athlete in the nation and the No. 21 player in the state of Georgia.

From Rivals.com: Georgia has long been among the leaders in this recruitment and not much has appeared to change with the in-state athlete, who the Bulldogs like in the defensive secondary. Green hasn't been shy about his love for Kirby Smart and company, while programs like Auburn and Miami try to hang around, so this call comes without much overthinking. It's hard to beat the Bulldogs in the home state and we don't expect this recruitment to become an exception.

Green would likely play in the Bulldogs' secondary if he ends up committing to Georgia as predicted.

Georgia recently lost a battle to the Miami Hurricanes for 2026 five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell. Landing Green over the Hurricanes wouldn't quite make up for that recruiting loss, but it would still be a nice off-the-field win for the Bulldogs.
