The Georgia Bulldogs are in an intense college football recruiting battle for the top quarterback in the country. As the Dawgs coaching staff hits the recruiting trail, the team also has an ongoing quarterback battle heading into the 2025 season.
Gunner Stockton is widely considered the favorite with Carson Beck transferring to the Miami Hurricanes. Ryan Puglisi is also in the mix battling Stockton to be the next Georgia quarterback.
Head coach Kirby Smart is aiming to land the top quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. The challenge is the Oregon Dugs are also pushing to sign five-star quarterback Jared Curtis.
Both the Dawgs and Ducks are expected to find out their fate on May 5, the date when Curtis will announce his decision. Curtis was once a Georgia commit before re-opening his recruitment last fall.
The race between Georgia and Oregon is "extremely close" at the top for five-star QB Jared Curtis, who is weeks away from making his college decision on May 5

ESPN's Eli Lederman predicts the Nashville Christian (Tenn.) product will ultimately sign with Georgia despite Oregon's recent push.
"Oregon has dominated Curtis' recruitment since he pulled his pledge from Georgia last fall," Lederman wrote on Tuesday. "The Ducks have sold Curtis on his fit in (offensive coordinator Will) Stein's offensive scheme, and Lanning's presence within the program's rise since his arrival in 2022 makes Oregon an exceptionally attractive proposition.
"... Ultimately, the same relationships that landed Georgia Curtis' initial commitment this past March should win out again in a tight recruitment, particularly with the Bulldogs expected to step up their NIL efforts with the 2026 class in the wake of several misses with top recruits in recent cycles."
