Georgia QB Gunner Stockton is wise beyond his years with response to Paul Finebaum's hot take

Longtime college football analyst Paul Finebaum cannot stop openly doubting Georgia Bulldogs' projected starting quarterback Gunner Stockton. 

"I'm not confident in Gunner Stockton," Finebaum said on the Paul Finebaum Show. "I sat with Kirby a couple of weeks ago, and he acted like he was, but I'd like to give him a lie detector test. Carson Beck had his faults, but I'd much rather have him than Gunner Stockton."

That's only one of several recent episodes where Finebaum shut Stockton down. However, the good news is that Stockton isn't letting whatever any media member says get to him. 

"I mean, that'd be like me saying you're a bad reporter," Stockton said. "Like anybody, you take offense to whatever fuels you; what fuels me is just doing right by my teammates and trying not to let them down."

Smart hasn't officially named Stockton as Georgia's starting quarterback just yet, but there have been signs. Letting Stockton speak to the media at SEC Media Days was a major one. 

That was one wise response from a young quarterback preparing to step up under center for one of the best college football teams in the nation with very little in-game experience under his belt..

It's also a great indication that Stockton has grown into the leader that Georgia football needs as they look to move forward without Carson Beck.
