Coming into the 2024 college football season, Carson Beck was regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects in the country. Moments ago, the Georgia gunslinger revealed his plans for the 2025 season.

Beck announced on Saturday that he's declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. He thanked Georgia coach Kirby Smart, his teammates and his fans in a heartfelt letter shared on Instagram.

"The past five years at the University of Georgia have been nothing short of a dream come true and I will forever cherish the memories that have been made," Beck wrote. "Thank you Dawg Nation for the time i’ve been here and to those who’ve supported and believed in me, thank you. It’s been an incredible journey and all these moments have ultimately led me to take the next step in my football career. With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. Go Dawgs!"

The timing of Beck's announcement makes sense. With Georgia's quarterfinal matchup for the College Football Playoff less than a week away, he wants to ensure that he's not a distraction.

Unfortunately for Beck, he won't be able to play in the Sugar Bowl. He suffered a UCL injury in the SEC Championship that required surgery. The soon-to-be NFL quarterback actually underwent surgery right before Christmas.

According to Beck's doctors, he's expected to start throwing again in the spring of 2025. It's unclear how much that'll impact his draft stock.

Beck finished the 2024 season with 3,485 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He was even better in 2023, completing 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,941 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Georgia fans will be cheering Beck on once he gets drafted by an NFL team.
