Georgia quarterback room ranked among college football's best by ESPN
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Georgia football enters the 2024 season with perhaps the best quarterback in the nation in Carson Beck, who some deem to be the best prospect overall available for the taking in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Beck made a huge splash on the scene in his first year as the starter, finishing out the season with over a 72% completion rate while passing for 3,941 yards with a 24-to-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He also showed off his mobility and improvisation ability, rushing for for 116 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Beck is also joined in the room by the likes of Gunner Stockton, Ryan Puglisi, Collin Drake, Sam Bush and Jaden Rashada, who is expected to be the No. 1 player on the depth chart after Beck is gone.

But despite the true depth presented by those names, it is largely because of Beck's presence that Georgia's overall quarterback room is ranked as the nation's best, or one of the nation's best, by most national outlets.

When ESPN's David Hale ranked all of the FBS' quarterback rooms, he placed Georgia's group of signal-callers in the in the top tier of his rankings.

The other three teams that were listed in the top tier included Alabama, Texas and Oregon. Jalen Milroe, Quinn Ewers and Dillon Gabriel, the respective starters for those programs, are all expected to be the nation's top quarterbacks.

Of the three, Ewers serves as the most realistic competition for Beck to be the first quarterback off the board in April, so how the two perform in comparison to each other will be one of the biggest storylines to watch this season.
