- Haynes King manages to be left off most lists of top college quarterbacks, but he’s back for a sixth season, has been great over the last two years after coming over from Texas A&M, and he should be one of the ACC’s biggest stars.

He was banged up throughout the year, and he threw. 14 touchdown passes after pitching 27 the year before, but he also tweaked his game a bit. The interceptions dropped, going from 16 in 2023 to just two. He’s about to go off, but if he can’t stay healthy, Aaron Philo is a talented young prospect to build around.

- The offensive line did its part to let the backfield work. It was third in the nation in fewest sacks allowed, the ground game came close to five yards per carry, and there’s a decent base returning, especially in the interior.

All-ACC guard Keylon Rutledge and Joe Fusile are back at their spots, Ethan Mackenny will be fine at one tackle spot, and it’s Game On for the other tackle gig.

- Jamal Haynes is back after running for 944 yards and nine scores. Haynes King led the team with 11 rushing scores, but the offense needs a No. 2 back. That’s where Malachi Hosley comes in. The Penn transfer is compact, quick, and has a nose for the goal line.

- The receiving corps lost Eric Singleton to Auburn, but it returns strong. Malik Rutherford is back after leading the way with 62 catches. Eric Rivers should be the new star on the outside, coming off a dominant performance with FIU in 2024, and after him, it’s a question mark. Brett Seither, who missed all of last year, hurt, and Luke Harpring will combine at tight end.
