With blue skies overhead and Bobby Dodd Stadium buzzing, Georgia Tech’s 2025 Spring Game delivered everything fans hoped for—and more. A dramatic final-minute stop sealed a 23-22 victory for Team Wreck’Em over Team Swarm, wrapping up the Yellow Jackets’ spring campaign with a thrilling finish and a clear message: the competition is alive and well.
All eyes were on the quarterback battle, and each contender had their moment. Freshman Aaron Philo showed both promise and poise, playing for both teams and combining for 275 yards and a touchdown on the day. Haynes King, the presumed starter heading into fall, was sharp in limited action, completing 9 of 12 passes for 66 yards. Redshirt freshman Graham Knowles also impressed with 133 yards, a touchdown, and some confident throws under pressure. Head coach Brent Key has depth—and decisions—to make heading into the summer.
Wide receiver Zion Taylor made his case as WR1 this fall. The junior hauled in three catches for 51 yards and a 34-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, then helped set up a final drive with a clutch 58-yard grab. With injuries thinning the WR room, Taylor’s consistency and explosiveness stood out in a big way. Freshman tight end Luke Harpring added 59 yards and a touchdown, showing the passing game has multiple reliable targets.
It wasn’t just the offense making noise. The defense snagged three interceptions—Omar Daniels, Clayton Powell-Lee, and A.J. Cheeks each getting one. On special teams, Aidan Birr was perfect, hitting field goals from 43, 47, and 50 yards. Andrew Nelms added a 27-yarder, reinforcing Georgia Tech’s kicking depth.
Georgia Tech fans left Bobby Dodd with plenty to be excited about. A fierce QB competition, a rising star at wideout, and a defense that knows how to close—it’s all trending up. With summer workouts next on the calendar, the countdown to kickoff has officially begun.
Don’t blink, Jackets fans. Fall is coming fast.
