Georgia WR London Humphreys makes honest admission about TD catch against Tennessee that makes the loss even more heartbreaking for Vols

The Tennessee Vols looked like they were on their way to beating the Georgia Bulldogs earlier this month for the first time since 2016.

With less than three minutes remaining in the game, Georgia faced a fourth-and-six from the Tennessee 28 yard line.

Not only were the Vols unable to get a stop on the play, they gave up the game-tying touchdown (UGA converted the two-point try) when Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton connected with wide receiver London Humphreys for an impressive 28-yard touchdown.

Tennessee had good coverage on the play, but Stockton made an absolutely perfect throw.

London Humphreys makes honest admission about TD catch against Tennessee that makes the loss to Georgia even more heartbreaking for the Vols

Humphrey's joined the Glory, Glory Podcast this week and he made an admission about his touchdown catch against the Vols that will make the loss even more heartbreaking for Tennessee.

The Georgia wide receiver admitted that Stockton never made that pass in practice. Humphreys also admitted that he had no clue it was fourth down.

"In all honesty, just with the game flow and everything going on, I had no idea it was fourth down at all," said Humphreys. "I was just out there playing, kind of tunnel vision, just kept going. We lined up -- that ball was never actually thrown in practice either, that specific route and that play we were calling. Which is just how it works -- that's football, I guess. It's the ones that you don't practice is what shows up (in a game).

"But I thought there was a chance with what they were doing and their coverages and everything. And sure enough, Gunner had thrown it. And, I mean, I didn't have to do much. It was a great pass. He threw it right in the bucket."

The Vols lost their chance to win the game in regulation on a play that Georgia hadn't repped in practice, and the Bulldogs wide receiver didn't even know what down it was.

Ouch.

Tennessee's had plenty of heartbreaking losses over the years, but that one is near the top of the list.
