The Georgia Bulldogs didn't replace quarterback Carson Beck in the transfer portal this offseason. But it's not too late for Georgia to still add another signal-caller.
On3's Pete Nakos predicted the Bulldogs to scour the transfer portal for quarterbacks this spring.
"Georgia did not land a transfer quarterback in the winter, but heavily recruited Cal transfer Fernando Mendoza, who ultimately landed at Indiana," Nakos wrote. "Quarterback Gunner Stockton has impressed in spring ball, sources tell On3, and is on track to start in the fall.
"But that is not expected to stop Georgia from vetting quarterback options in the spring to build out depth and add experience to the room."
Stockton started in place of an injured Beck in the College Football Playoffs last season. That could be very valuable experience for the quarterback.
The Bulldogs also have redshirt freshman quarterback Ryan Puglisi and freshmen signal-callers Ryan Montgomery and Hezekiah Millender on the roster. Puglisi presents the greatest competition for Stockton.
But extra quarterback depth for a national championship contender is never a bad thing.

In addition to quarterback, Nakos reported the Bulldogs "have identified" running back and edge rusher as two other needs to address in the transfer portal. Nakos added that Georgia is expected to be aggressive in adding multiple edge rushers this spring.
In the 2025 recruiting class, the Bulldogs added five-star edge prospect Isaiah Gibson and four-star edge rushers Darren Ikinnagbon and Chase Linton.
