Since Week Zero, the number of upsets in college football has grown to 40. However, Greg McElroy predicted there would be some more in Week 13.
The biggest upset of last Saturday's slate of games was New Mexico stunning the No. 18 Washington State Cougars 38-35. The Lobos were an 11.5-point underdog in Albuquerque, per ESPN BET.
The Kansas Jayhawks pulled off the upset against the BYU Cougars in Provo despite being a two-and-a-half-point underdog on ESPN BET. The Arizona State Sun Devils knocked off the Kansas State Wildcats 24-14. ESPN BET favored the Wildcats by seven and a half points.
The Stanford Cardinal upset the Louisville Cardinals 38-35 as the 20.5-point underdog on ESPN BET. Then, the Florida Gators upset the LSU Tigers, who were a two-and-a-half-point favorite on ESPN BET.
On a recent episode of "Always College Football," McElroy predicted another upset in SEC country, which had massive title race implications. McElroy predicted the Auburn Tigers to take down the No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies.
Texas A&M comes into Saturday as the No. 2 team in the SEC standings, behind the No. 3 Texas Longhorns. The Aggies are two-and-a-half-point favorites on the road, per ESPN BET.
"Give me Auburn," McElroy said. "I think Auburn is gonna somehow find a way to get this game. A&M, I'm not saying they're looking ahead, but I'm just saying it'd be human nature if they were. I think it's a terrible spot for A&M. I think you're gonna get Auburn's best punch."
Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze lost to Texas A&M last season 27-10, but McElroy believed the Tigers would somehow find a way to mix things up in the SEC title race. The Aggies hold an 8-6 series lead on Auburn.
Kickoff is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
