Henry Parrish to Enter Transfer Portal; Possible Reunion With Ole Miss?

Lane Kiffin is considering attacking the running back position in the next transfer portal cycle. Why not go with a familiar face?

According to reports from On3, former Ole Miss Rebels and current Miami Hurricanes running back Henry Parrish Jr. is expected to enter the portal, potentially setting up a reunion with his former team in the process.

Parrish departed Ole Miss following a 2021 season that ended in a Sugar Bowl appearance, following running backs coach Kevin Smith to Miami. Now, Smith has returned to Oxford, and with Parrish's looming portal decision in mind, perhaps he will attract the back's talents once again.

A Florida native, Parrish committed to Lane Kiffin and staff as part of the 2020 class, spending two seasons at Ole Miss. His most productive was the latter of those two, putting up 553 yards alongside running backs Jerrion Ealy and Snoop Conner.

At this point, it's all speculation, but a reunion would make sense, if Parrish was open to splitting carries with other backs. Kiffin revealed on Tuesday that transfer running back Logan Diggs underwent offseason knee surgery, and with his timetable for return cloudy at best, the coach admitted that his team could hit the portal again.

"You're going to have another free agency window coming up," Kiffin said. "If you guys look out there and look at our running back position, just like you would in the NFL, you're going to attack free agency at that spot. It is what it is."
