The Colorado State Rams take on the Washington Huskies in Seattle this Saturday and will be bringing their media team to cover the game. But someone in the department clearly anticipated them having a rough time pronouncing one particular name.
A screenshot of the Colorado State media guide has been going viral today. While the guide lists the names and pronunciations of every single player for the Rams, one name got special attention: Aitor Urionabarrenechea.
In a little caption above the pronunciation guide, the writer added the message "Good luck...."

Fans applauded the creativity of the media guide's writer, with some joking that more teams should have fun with their guides on a regular basis:
"Fun part is really easy, you just divide it in Uriona Barrenechea," one user joked on X.
"Really doesn't seem that bad after reading it a couple times," another pointed out.
"More intimidating than actually difficult," a third remarked.
"The retired SIA in me is rolling on the floor."
"Aitor D’Brickeshaw Ferguson. Got it."
As interesting as his name is, Urionabarrenechea is primed to play a big role in Colorado State this season. Coming out of high school in 2023 the 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman was a three-star recruit who redshirted his freshman year.
In 2024, he made his debut and appeared in all 13 games for the team as they went 8-5 on the season. He mostly played special teams as a redshirt freshman but is primed to see more time on offense in 2025.
2025 will be Colorado State's final year in the Mountain West Conference before they join the Pac-12 Conference in 2026. Everyone is expected to bring their A-game this year, from the offensive line to the media room.
