Auburn Tigers football is turning the page, and head coach Hugh Freeze made sure fans felt the shift.

On Tuesday, Freeze posted on Twitter

“It’s a new day on The Plains!! Excited about our new partnership with Nike #WarEagle”

The message came as Auburn officially kicked off its long-anticipated apparel deal with Nike, marking the end of an 18-year run with Under Armour. The switch had been rumored for months, but July 1 marked the official start of the Nike era on The Plains.

This isn’t about changing Auburn’s identity; it’s about enhancing it. The school’s classic logos and colors will remain the same, but the move to Nike brings a fresh energy to the program. It’s a shift in gear, not tradition, and one that aligns Auburn with some of the biggest brands in college sports.

The new partnership will cover all 21 varsity sports, with football, basketball, and baseball expected to debut updated Nike uniforms this fall. Fans can also expect a full line of Nike-branded Auburn gear to hit shelves later this summer.

Freeze’s tweet quickly gained traction among Auburn faithful, many of whom have been calling for the switch for years. The timing couldn’t be better, either, since Auburn is in the middle of a roster rebuild, and the Nike deal adds a fresh layer of excitement heading into the 2025 season.

While the full details of the agreement haven’t been made public, the buzz around the program is undeniable. Between a revamped roster, a new look on the field, and Freeze’s steady presence, Auburn is hoping this is the start of something new.
