Husky QB Commit Injured in First Half of Semifinal Playoff Game

With Mater Dei ahead of Centennial 15-7 and under one minute remaining in the first half Friday night, Monarchs' quarterback Dash Beierly suffered an apparent injury that forced him out for the remainder of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 semifinal matchup.

Beierly, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior, one of two quarterbacks committed to the Washington football program in the 2025 recruiting class, reportedly took a shot on a run play with 12 seconds left before halftime and did not appear to take another snap as MD earned a 36-7 victory over Centennial.

The one-time Arizona pledge, who flipped his commitment to UW back on January 23 following the Huskies' hire of Wildcats coach Jedd Fisch, threw a 5-yard touchdown to sophomore tight end Mark Bowman with 39 second to go until halftime, his 22nd touchdown pass of the season, to widen the Mater Dei lead to 15-7.

Beierly also scored a 1-yard touchdown run at the 9:29 mark in the second quarter for his 5th rushing TD of the season, marking the fifth consecutive game that the Husky commit has scored with his legs.

Even without the Big Ten quarterback commit at the controls Mater Dei maintained its commanding lead in the second half with sophomore backup Furian Inferrera leading the Monarchs to a 36-6 victory and another berth in the CIF Division 1 championship on November 29 against St. John Bosco.

Beierly is expected to sign with UW during the early signing period that begins on December 4, and enroll as one of potentially 16 mid-year freshmen in January.
