It'll be a couple of years before scouts, reporters, coaches, and front office members converge to watch Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams run the 40-yard dash, but the former five-star recruit has already made a bold statement about his eventual 40 time.

Williams was asked by reporters this week if he thinks he can out-run former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe's unofficial 40 time.

Milroe ran an unofficial 4.37 at Alabama's Pro Day this week.

And Williams is confident that he can beat that time.

"It was probably 10th grade," said Williams when asked about the last time he ran the 40-yard dash. "I know it was at least 4.4."

"I will definitely beat 4.37," added Williams when asked if he can beat Milroe's time. "We already talked about it -- me and [Milroe]. He has a sneak peek on what he thinks I'm going to run."

Williams was one of the most dynamic players in college football as a 17-year-old in 2024. I have no doubt that he'll put up some impressive testing numbers in early 2027 as he prepares for the NFL Draft process.
