'If he takes more visits I think Tennessee maybe even moves on' - Vols' pursuit of 4-star recruit could still have more twists

The Tennessee Vols' pursuit of 2026 four-star offensive lineman Brandon Anderson has certainly been interesting.

Anderson, 6-foot-4/320 lbs from Kennesaw, Ga., committed to Tennessee last October before decommitting from the Volunteers in January.

The four-star recruit explained to 247Sports that he decommitted because Tennessee wanted him to shut down his recruitment.

"So this is the reason I opened my recruitment back up," said Anderson after decommitting from Tennessee in late January (via Noles 247). "I felt like I should have more opportunities. They (Tennessee) wanted me to shut down my recruitment after my OV with them. I didn't like that. I have more interest in other schools too. So I had to decommit and experience my high school time."

Tennessee has continued to pursue Anderson since his decommitment. On3's Steve Wiltfong, in fact, recently predicted that the Vols will earn a recommitment from Anderson

Wiltfong, however, also noted that Tennessee could still elect to move on from Anderson if the Georgia native decides to take more visits.

"Offensive lineman Brandon Anderson, who was back on campus (this past weekend), told me he had a great time getting back around the program," said Wiltfong this week. "I talked to some sources that spent time with him, the Vols lead. It'll be interesting to see if he shuts it down again or takes visits. If he takes more visits, I think Tennessee maybe even moves on here.

"So it'll be interesting to see what happens with Brandon Anderson, who's already been committed once, reopened his process, then comes back and visits (UT). Tennessee is riding number one. Does he commit? Does he take more visits? What does that mean for Tennessee and other targets? But I like where the Vols stand (for Anderson)."

Anderson, who has a planned commitment date of August 15, is currently scheduled to take official visits to Maryland (May 30), Missouri (June 6), North Carolina (June 13), and Tennessee (June 20).

It sounds like the Vols are in a good spot for Anderson, but this battle could still play out several different ways. Anderson’s upcoming visits will be important to watch in the coming weeks, as they could impact how Tennessee feels about the four-star offensive lineman.
