One of Phil Trautwein’s top Offensive Line targets, Grayson McKeogh paid the Nittany Lions a visit on Thursday. The La Salle College High School Tackle was one of two Penn State Football recruiting targets to make the trip from La Salle. Zykee Scott, a blooming 2027 Linebacker also joined McKeogh. NittanyCentral caught up with McKeogh to see how the visit went.
“It went really well.” McKeogh said. “They [Penn State] showed a lot of interest and made it apparent that I was high on their list.” From what I have heard, one thing is for sure, McKeogh is high on Penn State’s 2026 Offensive Line board.
The ON3 Industry four star recanted a similar message to what most in-state elites’ hear. The best in Pa, stay in Pa. McKeogh said “[I] alked to Coach Traut and Coach Palko a lot, along with Coach Chris (Slim) and Coach Franklin.” He said their message to him was “The best in PA stay in PA…”
Penn State also appears to love McKeogh’s size. Standing at 6-7 McKeogh certainly has the size of an elite division one Offensive Lineman. “…they express how they can develop me with my size and athleticism. ” Said McKeogh.
McKeogh tells me that he plans to commit to the school of his choice after his official visits. That would put the commitment timeframe sometime this summer. Until then, McKeogh plans to take his time, take his visits and compare the schools he visits. Currently Penn State is competing with schools such as Duke, Notre Dame and Tennessee for McKeogh’s talents.
This sort of in-state blue chipper is the type of recruit that Penn State, James Franklin, and Phil Trautwein must land to help build a successful 2026 class. McKeogh will continue to be a priority target for Penn State.
