Isaiah Bond files lawsuit against woman who alleged sexual assault

Former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond filed a lawsuit against the woman who alleged sexual assault.

Bond’s agent, Damien Butler, sent a letter to all 32 NFL teams on Wednesday disputing allegations made against him. Bond turned himself in to police last week over the alleged assault, but was released after posting bond and denied the allegations.

In Wednesday’s letter, Butler alleged that Bond was “targeted by a woman eight years his senior, relentlessly pursued, enticed by explicit photos and videos and ultimately set up for financial gain.” Subsequently, Bond has filed a lawsuit against the reported victim “in response to the false allegation of sexual assault and defamatory statements made against him.”

Butler told NFL teams that Bond “is completely innocent of the allegations levied against him and will fight to clear his name.”

Bond had 34 catches for 540 yards and five touchdowns at Texas last season. During the predraft process, he made headlines for his failed attempt to break the NFL Scouting Combine record for fastest 40-yard dash time.

Before the allegations surfaced, Bond was considered a potential first-round pick. It is not clear if this current situation has impacted how teams view him.
