Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels are 5-0 and in first place in the Southeastern Conference. And on Sunday, the new polls came out revealing the program's highest-ranking since 2015.
In 2015, the Rebels were ranked 3rd in Week 6. And last season, Ole Miss was ranked as high as 6th. Both the Associated Press and the US LBM Coaches Poll put Kiffin's Rebels at No. 4.
"It just think it says a lot about where we are at," Lane Kiffin said. "We lost down there and LSU stormed the field last year against Ole Miss. It doesn't seem like that is supposed to happen. And then we beat them here and don't storm the field. Good spot to be in."
Ole Miss is the highest-ranked SEC team in this week's AP Poll.

That's never happened, I do not think, in a very long time.
The Rebels began the year 7-0 in 2022 before losing to Alabama at home, one of just three losses at home for Kiffin since 2021. This is also the 12th time in program history Ole Miss has started a season 5-0.
One of the bigger things at motion here is Ole Miss is not just undefeated but also 3-0 in the SEC. Two early wins over Arkansas and Kentucky set up Saturday as a Separation Saturday of sorts for the conference crown. Now, Ole Miss heads into the bye with a rather substantial lead.
Things will begin to ramp up, though. Well, not immediately. Ole Miss takes on Washington State at home in two weeks. But then, the Rebels have back-to-back road trips to Georgia and Oklahoma. The Sooners are the second-highest ranked SEC team behind Ole Miss. Georgia checks in at No. 12 after losing at home to Alabama Saturday.
"I feel like that goes into what I talked about earlier, that 'next play' mentality — 'next player' mentality is kind of a similar thing. If Austin's out there we have a really good shot of winning, if Trinidad's out there (it's) the same thing," Cayden Lee said.
A lot of folks are worried about a competition. I'm not.
I personally don't believe Austin Simmons is healthy. In fact, I don't think he's even remotely close. His ankle was heavily taped Saturday and he still doesn't look right. Chambliss on the other hand is 100 percent and clicking with the entire offense. One could say he's clicking with the entire team. His ability to make plays, evade pressure, and deliver the football downfield has energized this offense after a stagnant start in the first two weeks.
