Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders  made his coaching debut with Jackson State on Sunday, leading the Tigers to a blowout 53-0 win over NAIA program Edward Waters College.

It was a dominant performance from the FCS school as the subdivision starts up a college football season that was postponed from the fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately for Deion Sanders, the 53-0 win was a bit bittersweet. After the game, Sanders noted that all of his personal belongings were stolen out of the Jackson State locker room inside Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.

To say that this sucks would be an understatement. If you’re stuff isn’t protected inside a locker room during a game, something further needs to be done about it. Because Sanders likes his bling, we’re sure some of the stuff was pretty darn valuable, too.

On to the good news. Sanders' former teammate with the Dallas Cowboys, Troy Aikman, was on hand for Prime Time's coaching debut. It was a surprise for the head coach, who helped his team to a dominant win over a much lesser opponent. Sanders also  received a Gatorade shower after the game.

Jackson State took a 31-0 halftime lead before pretty much resting its starters for the remainder of the game. This comes after a two-year span under John Hendrick that saw Jackson State boast a 6-9 overall record.

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see the FCS season play out during the spring. Obviously, Sanders and his Jackson State football program will be among the most talked about teams.
