Typically, front offices have an idea of which players they would want to pick come the NFL Draft. But, one big outing from a star at the NFL Combine could drastically change everything. A former quarterback for Kalen DeBoer and Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson Tide should know this the most.
Jalen Milroe has been named as the quarterback who has the most to gain in the NFL Combine by Pro Football Focus. The former Alabama star is slated to be selected with the 52nd pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, things could take a turn for him if front offices and scouts deem him worthy of getting picked earlier.
These projections by PFF do come with certain expectations though, "Milroe should ace whichever of the athletic tests he chooses to take part in...He needs to continue to show improved footwork and accuracy from standard dropbacks to give teams faith that he can consistently complete passes from the pocket."
So far, the biggest issue with the former Crimson Tide signal-caller is his ability to continuously produce downs for his team and get the offense rolling. Back in his final year with Alabama, Milroe committed 11 interceptions which made their offense stall quite a bit.
This would mean that his passing drills need to be flawless during the NFL Combine. If everything works out, he could be picked ahead of Jaxson Dart or Cam Ward.
All of this is in the spirit of wishful thinking. But, Milroe definitely can improve his passing significantly before the NFL Combine as evidenced by his showing during the Senior Bowl.
