If utilized correctly, the Senior Bowl can mark the beginning of a player's rise in the NFL Draft. Just look at former Florida State star defensive end Jermaine Johnson, who blew away so many scouts in practice that he didn't even need to play in the game. Johnson ended up being selected in the first round by the New York Jets last year.

Another former Seminole standout, safety Jammie Robinson, participated in the event in 2023 to solidify his status as one of the top defenders in the upcoming NFL Draft.

To begin the week, players on the National and American squads measured in. Robinson came in at 5-foot-10 6/8 and 194 pounds with 8 7/8-inch hands, 29 5/8-inch arms, and a 72 1/8-inch wingspan. The measurements weren't much different from what he was listed at in 2022 at Florida State (5-foot-11, 203-pounds).

It basically confirmed what NFL scouts already know. Robinson doesn't possess an elite frame as he translates to the next level. However, he does provide physicality, high football IQ, and enough athleticism to boot. It'll be important for him to do well in the athletic testing at the combine and at Florida State's pro day if he chooses to participate to further his standing.

The Georgia native put together a terrific week of practice in Mobile. Robinson stood out on Wednesday in front of a contingent of scouts during 1-on-1s. His consistency ended up resulting in the wide receivers and tight ends on the American team voting Robinson as the safety practice player of the week, which was announced on Friday.

Robinson carried his momentum into the game where he started at safety, donning No. 5 for the American team. He recorded back-to-back tackles on the opening drive to hold the National team to a field goal attempt. Robinson delivered a big hit in the fourth quarter and got some love from the announcers on the NFL Network broadcast. In total, he concluded the game with three total tackles, including one solo stop. The American team fell to the National team, 27-10.

The next step for Robinson will be putting together a productive outing at the 2023 NFL Combine (Feb. 27-Mar. 6) and Florida State's Pro Day (TBA).

During his two years with the Seminoles after transferring from South Carolina, Robinson totaled 183 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, one sack, eight pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and five interceptions in 25 appearances. He concluded his college career as a back-to-back First-Team All-ACC selection at safety.
