Jarquez Hunter moves to 20th in Auburn football history in career rushing yards

Jarquez Hunter rushed for 109 yards against the Arkansas Razorbacks this past Saturday, giving him 2,008 rushing yards in his career. 

This moved him to the number 20 spot all-time on Auburn's career rushing leader list, passing Fob James and Secdrick McIntyre. 

He is now only 60 yards behind Lionel James to move up another spot. 

If Hunter does come back next season for a fourth year on the Plains, he will catapult up these rankings. 

Looking at the numbers, if Hunter was able to rush for about 200 more yards this season or 300 if you include the bowl game, he would be at about 2,300 yards. 

Ben Tate is currently fifth on the list with 3,321 rushing yards in his career. 

This tells me that if Hunter finishes this season strong and returns for another season on the Plains, he could finish as a top-five rusher in program history with a 1,000-yard season in 2024. 

What's crazy to think is that Hunter backed up Tank Bigsby for two seasons. If he had gotten more carries during the time Bigsby was around, Hunter could have worked his way to top three all the time. 

It's great to see players make history, and Hunter has done that, but he has a lot of history left to make during his remaining time running the rock for the Auburn Tigers.
